No, I haven't been to the gym. But after walking [livejournal.com profile] cattitude partway to the subway, I went back into Inwood Hill Park, and sat on a bench. It's a nice morning, good for being outdoors.

Perhaps inspired by a man nearby doing his exercises, I did three sets of the no-weight bicep curls my doctor recommended, being sure to stretch after each set. Then two sets of lateral raises (a shoulder exercise), also with no weight, and two sets of calf raises using a nearby staircase. Stretching after each set. (Each of these sets was 15 reps.)

Then I went on, took a close look at the apple tree, and saw that it's got one branch growing from near ground level, with a few blossoms at the base of the branch. Wandered home via periwinkles and daffodils, dandelions, willows, and violets.

Yes, I'm feeling better, but I wouldn't say "well", yet.

Please, Habeant papam. He is not my leader.

Update: the current consensus appears to be "habent papem." Can anyone confirm that? (I got a C in my one semester of Latin, and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude isn't home to ask.)

As to DeLay's claim of a vast left-wing conspiracy out to destroy the conservative movement, nonsense. I like conservatives. They're opposed to all questionable adventures abroad and for fiscal prudence and responsibility. It's right-wing nuts I can't stand. —Molly Ivins
