I'm not well yet, but I'm doing better. Still a little coughing, but walking to the grocery, and back with (admittedly minimal) purchases wasn't draining. I did stop and sit for a little while, but more because I wanted to enjoy the park than because I needed the rest.
The apple tree near the flagpole [1] is in full bloom, and remarkably eye-catching with so little having leafed out yet: from a distance, it's a burst of white against a non-descript background. (Close up, it's near a variety of bulbs, periwinkle, and other color at ground level.) The cherry (?) between the birch trees is also in bloom, and most of the maples are flowering green and enthusiastic. The willows near our side of the inlet are all, suddenly, green and burgeoning, including the one that has regrown from the several feet of trunk remaining when the rest came down in a storm. (Usually, the Parks people cut those much shorter: there's a fine second-growth willow right next to the river, the result of their careful shaping and pruning.)
It was 16°C at 7 this morning, and is now up to 21; I may take a book outside later.
[1] I realize these locations will be meaningless to most of you, but adding more detail wouldn't help much.
