Another early apple from the Greenmarket this weekend, tucked into my bag this morning and eaten cold. This is a fairly small, squat (rather than spherical) green apple:

Crunchy, juicy, a little sour, with a crisp skin. It's not bad, and I might get it again, though I prefer my apples sweeter. I ate it down to the core, but that might be partly because it was almost lunchtime.

I'm still waiting for the Esopus Spitzenburgs.

(We have one more variety to try this week, Elstar, as well as a few more Vista Bellas, but this week's batch of vista bella are a bit mealier than the first ones we'd gotten. Odd: same harvest, same orchard.)
