The park smells delightful this morning: honey locusts overhead, and the little white wild roses blooming in the understory. (Also tulip trees, which are basically scentless, and remaining paulownia and hawthorne, which I'm less fond of.) I saw a pair of fine mallard ducklings this morning, about a week old, swimming together and near their mother.

Roses are also in bloom in lots of gardens, large red tea roses and such, without the intense scent of the little white roses, but much longer-lasting (the white ones may be gone in a fortnight).

I have now updated my Weblog three days in a row; I wonder if it will continue, this time (modulo gaps for travel).

I've misplaced my copy of Mary Gentle's A Sundial in a Grave, which I wouldn't mind so much if I weren't about 3/4 of the way through reading it.

I keep forgetting to ice my shoulder.

I mentioned earlier that the book I'm in the middle of--a large trade paperback, mind--is missing.

I've now discovered that the kitchen timer is also missing. It's normally attached to the front of the refrigerator by a magnet. This is an excellent system in the general case, less so in ours, given that [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger likes to push magnets off the fridge. By now, I know where he leaves them: either on another side of the refrigerator, on top of it, or on the floor nearby. Gravity only takes them so far, after all. It's not in any of those places, nor anywhere else I could see it quickly.

I'm willing to share our toys and tools, I just wish he wouldn't hide them.

And now he's sitting in my lap, warm and soft and cute and innocent-looking.

I bought a used Palm Vx from Ebay. It doesn't work right--major problems with screen I/O. So I'll be sending it back to the seller.

Fortunately, I've another chance, the IBM clone of same, which I got as a second-chance offer, also on eBay, and which should have gone into the mail to me today. I'm probably going to collect a few more of these, because they're very useful, and I've worn out one Vx and one Tungsten.

I feel like a robot zombie--I'm trying to collect used electronic brains.
