redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

I mentioned earlier that the book I'm in the middle of--a large trade paperback, mind--is missing.

I've now discovered that the kitchen timer is also missing. It's normally attached to the front of the refrigerator by a magnet. This is an excellent system in the general case, less so in ours, given that [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger likes to push magnets off the fridge. By now, I know where he leaves them: either on another side of the refrigerator, on top of it, or on the floor nearby. Gravity only takes them so far, after all. It's not in any of those places, nor anywhere else I could see it quickly.

I'm willing to share our toys and tools, I just wish he wouldn't hide them.

And now he's sitting in my lap, warm and soft and cute and innocent-looking.

Trade paperback. That is impressive. Tinka does not so much hide things as bring me things I don't want. Waking up one Saturday to find tiny black and white feathers in drifts all over the bedroom, my closet, the space behind the couch, and the dining area, and a very small, very headless bird on the floor of my closet, was less than totally happy. Possibly most impressive about that was how many feathers came off that exceedingly small bird in so many places without even remotely denuding the bird.

is he a fast reader? Otherwise you might be waiting a while before you get your book back :-)

Push come to shove, I have both a kitchen timer I can spare and copy of the trade paper back that I read. Shall I post them to you?

Re: Thank you.

It is an electric digital kind with a fairly new battery. I see by a post that you've found the book. If you don't find the timer, let me know and I'll post it to you, well, post haste... (sorry)

Re: Thank you.

I'm assuming that the surface mail address I've got for the cleaver still serves?

There's nought from those environs that I can think of. I'll ship off the timer on Monday given no further instructions.
