Mundane morning update

One manuscript has now gone back to the editor--the straightforward one, which just needed, and got, an okay on the author bio.

I've recreated my local friends filter. I hope it works this time.

julian_tiger knocked my tea mug onto the floor, but while he spilled almost an entire cup of tea, producing a wet floor and some wet papers, he did not damage my favorite mug. He has now been forgiven and is sitting on cattitude's lap. I also appear to have somehow bruised my arm and not noticed it at the time. Am dithering about gym versus just going out to buy rye bread.

Freelance gig: good news

I have the freelance project I posted about last week. They want me to start on January 5th. (I suspect they'd have wanted me to start sooner if I hadn't explained that I'm going to be away for New Year's.) It's expected to run at least through the 27th, and probably no longer than February 10th.

This one is right at Penn Station (2 Penn Plaza), so 9-5 means I can leave the house at an entirely reasonable 8:00.

It's going through Kelly Services, which means I'll be on a payroll, with taxes deducted, rather than having to send invoices and pay self-employment taxes later.

I have some kind of cold, I think. Mostly low-level, but it's not easy to exercise while congested. Still, I got a nice lunch, exercised a bit, and ran a few errands before coming home and going thud. In particular, I now have the good Golden Assam tea again.
