I was hunting through my email inbox this afternoon, looking for the login to pay my phone bill online (I eventually dealt with that by having them email me my userid, which turned out to me one of my usuals, rosvicl). And there was an invitation to a social event this afternoon. I'd thought seriously about going when I got the invitation: and then just forgot about it.

The way I'm feeling today, this may be just as well. But I'd like to have decided. That's the second such this month (the first was a meetup for Wikipedia people, though it's true I've barely been on Wikipedia the last several months).

I haven't--or at least I think I haven't--missed any specific agreed-on dates, times when I had agreed to meet one or a few other people for something, rather than being invited to something more amorphous. Nonetheless, I am not thrilled by this.

I mentioned recently in email to [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel that I'd like to be doing more in-person socializing, some combination of strengthening connections with people I know in New York and making new friends. I'm not going to accomplish it at this rate.
