I have the freelance project I posted about last week. They want me to start on January 5th. (I suspect they'd have wanted me to start sooner if I hadn't explained that I'm going to be away for New Year's.) It's expected to run at least through the 27th, and probably no longer than February 10th.

This one is right at Penn Station (2 Penn Plaza), so 9-5 means I can leave the house at an entirely reasonable 8:00.

It's going through Kelly Services, which means I'll be on a payroll, with taxes deducted, rather than having to send invoices and pay self-employment taxes later.

That's really good, in fact, since I found self employment taxes to be the bane of my existence.

So, huzzah!

Yay! And yeah, the government hates self-employed people and makes our lives miserable just for the fun of it, so I'm glad you get to skip that part this time around.
