I had some odd leg aches yesterday, which I have dealt with, more or less, by taking a long hot bath last night, rearranging the furniture so I'm using a different computer chair, and deciding that massive gym stuff may not be ideal for today.

The w key on my keyboard refused to behave, even after being removed and reseated twice; I am now using a different keyboard, with a touch I don't like as much.

And, early this morning, while I was minding my own business, [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger decided that it would be an amusing move in a pounce game to jump up and bite me on the ass. This got part of a glass of water poured on him--not accidentally--which meant I then had to wipe it up. All has since been forgiven, however, and he shared my morning yogurt. Forgiven, but not forgotten.

I am disproportionately amused and pleased that [livejournal.com profile] cattitude's parents, in Schenectady (where the ideas come from [1]), have sent us a winter holiday card with a picture of Central Park.

It's not labeled "Central Park", and it's entirely possible they didn't recognize it as such: but I've lived here all my life, and recognize that view from inside the park.

[1] OK, technically they're not in Schenectady, but I think a grand total of five people reading this have ever heard of Niskayuna, and I think of them as being in Schenectady, which I had heard of before I knew anyone living there [2].

I think I could get into this habit of evening baths.

(Of course, I may rethink this when I'm going to bed with wet hair.)

I am glad the people on my friends list post about finals, and deadlines for term papers, and lunatics careening past their dorm room doors in shopping carts.

It helps me remember that going back to school would not all be a bliss of reading and learning and intense discussion, as it can so easily seem when people talk about the good bits, the books and languages and joy.
