[personal profile] adrian_turtle just visited me and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude for a day and a half. We took things pretty quiet, including a few walks in the park and plenty of conversation. On the subway downtown this morning, Cattitude asked if we had thought about Thanksgiving, and got a yes from each of us; this doesn't mean we have specific plans yet, but it's nice to have explicitly confirmed that the three of us will be spending the holiday together again. (He was headed to work, and I was playing native guide and bearer for Adrian on her way to a long-distance bus.)

I have some muscle soreness that suggests I either overdid gym stuff this week (three workouts) or climbed too many stairs, mostly on the subway. Or both. My knees are significantly better than they were a year ago, and I am using some subway stations that aren't wheelchair-accessible (rather than limiting stairs as much as possible) but my leg muscles aren't properly used to stair-climbing. For values of "properly" meaning I get around by subway but live in an elevator building: call it eight flights today.

(I'm starting this one the Sunday after the con, with some brief notes I made mid-week.) As you know, Bob, Wiscon is a feminist science fiction convention held in Madison, Wisconsin. The con hotel is a block from the state capitol building. This was Wiscon 35, and I've been going almost every year since Wiscon 20.
