[livejournal.com profile] cattitude is wonderful and smart, and I don't think I've mentioned that lately.

It looks as though we'll be moving something off the to-do list soon. (Part of the problem is that it was floating vaguely in the air between two or three people's lists, and none of us really had the time and energy for it. It is being lured to land by yet another person.)

I've been to the gym. Third time this week, which at this point is noteworthy for me. numbers )

It's cold here, which would be okay except that my gloves seem to have stopped insulating properly, some time today. (No, I didn't get them wet.)

The "I'll ask you questions" meme is going around again. [livejournal.com profile] amaebi did it as "leave me a random comment and I'll ask you questions." My comment was

"I'm in the middle of two books again--four if you count two novels I haven't picked up in months--and have another waiting at the library."

Five questions, and my answers )

[livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude, and I had a very cozy Thanksgiving, with enough good things to eat that we forgot all about the home-made cranberry relish until we'd filled up on turkey, onions, beans, sweet potato and apple casserole, stuffing, and gravy. Pie didn't happen (small hardware glitch), so we just ate chocolate for dessert. And mostly it was the warmth of being up here with both of them.

We took the train up, splurging to avoid day-before-Thanksgiving traffic on I-95. Cattitude went back yesterday, and has discovered that the buses aren't made for people his height. He went home with turkey, olives, and the aforesaid relish, for his supper last night; Adrian and I had turkey and cranberry relish on pita bread from the Middle Eastern store downstairs (source of the olives). [I'll be taking the bus back to New York today.]

( Apr. 20th, 2006 04:01 pm)
In the course of one of our morning conversations, [livejournal.com profile] papersky pointed out to me that all of my partners tend to work too hard. She suggested that two might be coincidence, but three suggests that there's something I'm looking for, or that this correlates with something I'm looking for. Alternatively, there may be something in me that attracts people who also tend to work too hard.

Just now, on the phone with [livejournal.com profile] cattitude, I said "I don't mind having three partners who overwork yourselves, as long as you're overworking yourselves with the right things." He agreed, saying that if you're going to do that, you should like the work.

Fortunately, none of the three seem to think that I need to work harder--if anything, they're better at reminding me not to overexert myself than I am at reminding myself.
