I stayed at work until six, then did a quick cardio warmup (after waiting a few minutes for the hardware), 3/4 of the "Xpressline" quick workout, stretched, and showered. Thursday I'll take the time for a thorough workout, but this helped my mood and probably has some other value. I'm also counting my dancing at Saturday night's VNV Nation concert as exercise, on the cardio side.
Cardio, 9 minutes, top heart rate 149
Xpressline Nautilus machines:
Leg press, 260 pounds, 12
Leg extension, 80 pounds, 10
Leg curl, 100 pounds, 12
Chest press, 70 pounds, 12 (resisted urge to do a second set)
Bicep curl, 45 pounds, 3; 40 pounds, 8 (I had to try a couple of adjustments on seat height during those three higher-weight reps, as well)
Tricep curl, 40 pounds, 11
Stretches
I would also like to note that we got about 7.3 inches of rain yesterday (18.5 cm, for those of you who prefer metric). This is the second-most ever recorded in New York City, and by this morning most things were functioning normally; by lunchtime the remaining transit delays had been fixed, including the one blamed on a mudslide. (Long Island has some beach erosion, but probably not severe. "Probably" because the morning paper noted that the parks managers hadn't had a chance to look at some of the North Shore [LI Sound] beaches yet.)
