Time and energy finally came together, and I've used the ice cream maker
cattitude got for my birthday (and delivered around the new year, as agreed at the time).
Thus, we have had cinnamon vanilla ice cream for the first time in too many years (since Peter's Ice Cream on Atlantic Avenue lost their lease). It's good. I served us each a bowlful as soon as the ice cream maker stopped, and put the rest in the freezer to harden a bit and be eaten later. It wasn't even difficult: milk, sugar, powdered cinnamon, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.

Cinnamon, mmmm! I'll have to remember that for when I do find my paddle.

The advantage is that we don't need freezer room for the ice cream maker, only for the ice cream. The disadvantates are that we need table space for it, and that it's heavy. (This is why I didn't get it until new year's, with a November birthday: Cattitude has a bad back and wasn't up to carrying it, so he waited until he was going to be home anyway waiting for his new computer to be delivered.)
