tl;dr: Train ticket and appointments sorted, and I think the prescription is too.

[personal profile] cattitude and I went to CVS this afternoon, to arrange a partial refund for a prescription copay: they'd charged it as a three-month supply and it was less than a two-month supply. I had time to get bored while I waited for them to figure out what I was telling them, and how that matched what was in their computer. If I'd known we were going to be sitting around for fifteen minutes I would have brought my kindle. It was a very nice afternoon for a walk to and from the trolley stop, and the time waiting.

The prescription is for estrogen, and the dosing is once a day for fourteen days, and then twice a week after that, so the same number of doses is a 49-day supply the first time and an 84-day supply after that. This wait at the store today was after spending a bunch of time on the phone with them on Monday, making sure that they knew I only got a 49-day supply, so I can get a refill around Thanksgiving, rather than early next year. That's more important than the partial refund, but it's not as though I was asked to choose between them.

When I got home, I went online and bought my mother a ticket on a train from Boston to New York in a couple of weeks. She will be flying here from London, staying for three days, then going to New York and New Orleans. There were some extra emails and phone calls back-and-forth, because when I was ready to buy the ticket, it turned out that traveling on Sunday instead of Monday means there's a 1:00 train, which no longer exists on weekdays.

I also called my doctor's office to make two follow-up appointments with my primary care doctor, and Mt. Auburn Hospital to schedule a mammogram.

THankfully the NHS provide my oestrogen free given my age (not that it's all that expensive if you could buy it over the counter- I spent years subbing other people when I had to pay for my scripts not that that bothered me any.
