I saw the doctor this afternoon, and have been reassured that there is nothing seriously wrong with my right wrist, despite the intermittent pain. That reassurance is a significant part of why I went to see her.
I had a hands-on exam followed by x-rays. The x-rays are normal, so I am supposed to get a brace, rest, take NSAIDs, and call them if it's still a problem in two weeks. I sent a message through MyChart asking what kind of brace.
Also, it was a fine afternoon to sit in Davis Square with a cup of tea, and my hip and knees ae still OK, after another day of walking at least a kilometer. (My phone's "health" app routinely overestimates, but when I calibrated against a map, if it says I walked half a mile that's really 500 meters, etc.)
ETA: I asked what kind of wrist brace, and she sent me a couple of links; it looks like I want a right-handed version of the brace I'm currently using on my left wrist.
Also, I had to register at the hospital before getting the X-rays, and when I walked into the registration office, the person behind the desk had her mask pulled down. She pulled it over her mouth and nose as I approached. I have sent the hospital a complaint, noting that they can get a precise time by checking when I registered for, and that I know they can't enforce 100% compliance from visitors, but I expect better from hospital staff.
about 2.2 km yesterday, 1.2 today
