More move planning

I have visited the Belmont Light office and shown them photo ID, and the cashier told me I'm all set, and will get my first paper bill in about 30 days, with the option of handling my account online after that. Then I helped cattitude do some more measuring, including the widths of the windows that it would be possible to put air conditioners in, and we talked a bit about furniture placement etc.

We ordered window air conditioners this afternoon, but don't know yet whether they will be delivered Friday or Monday. Friday would be good, since the movers will be packing our stuff on Monday, and moving us Tuesday.

* find a person/company to hire to do a post-move cleanup [one email sent] * call the oil company, put my name on that account, and probably set up the "auto top-up" plan the landlord described, so I don't have to keep an eye on the gauge myself * return overdue library book * finish copyediting/proofreading that grant proposal

If the air conditioners need to be delivered Monday, you could have somebody else wait for the delivery in Belmont while you deal with the movers in Somerville. (Somebody whose Monday afternoon tutoring gig just ended, maybe? My poor clueless Monday student says he'll be done for the summer as of this Thursday.)

We don't need someone to wait for the delivery, my clever Cat told them to leave it inside the back porch, which has a separate key code from the rest of the house.

The advantage of a Friday delivery is that that would make it easier to have the bedroom air conditioner installed before we move in. It is possible that an extra person Monday instead of, or in addition to, Tuesday would help there.

Yes please; I was going to google, but a recommendation from someone I know would be more reliable.

We use TLC Cleaners; they employ Portuguese-speaking immigrants and hopefully don’t take too much advantage of them. They do as well as I would if I had time to clean.
