A little before six, I walked over to my boss's desk to put away one book and pick up another. She suggested that I could leave then (and pick up the next bit of my current proofreading task in the morning), and I told her that I'd been dithering about whether to go to the gym, and if I left then I'd have to know where I was headed.

Edie urged me to go to the gym, noting that she'd felt the same way that morning, and gone, and it was a good idea even though the pool was freezing and there wasn't enough hot water in the showers. So I took her advice and went to the gym, despite menstrual pain, and had a reasonably good workout.

Cardio, 22 minutes, top heart rate 136
Calf machine, 70 pounds, 13, 13, 12
Leg press, 280 pounds, 3 sets of 12
Tricep pulldown, 40 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Bicep curls, 30 pounds, 15; 25 pounds, 17, 13--stopped at 13 because my left wrist hurt

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arches, 17, 19, 17 (I forgot to stop at 17 on the 2nd set)
Tree, 4 sets of {2 on each leg}

Lateral raise, 5 pounds left hand, 2 pounds right, 2 sets of 15
Hip adduction, 100 pounds, 13, 9
Hip abduction, 60 pounds, 13, 11
Adjustable row, 80 pounds, 15
