[livejournal.com profile] cattitude and I went to Arlington this afternoon, so he could see the place and we could measure things in detail and start planning what to put where.

He agrees that it is a good place, and I am relieved: he agreed to let me decide this, but I was worried that it would be closer to "okay, it will do" than "thank you, you found a good place." Getting all of our furniture in may be tricky: not just what to put in which room, but large items and narrow doorways. But we shall persevere. He is staring at his diagrams while I type this. I expected him to like the sun room, but it turns out that he is at least as pleased with the porch. (The porch isn't usable in really cold weather or at night, since it lacks both insulation and lighting/electricity, but it's a nice bit of space and fits his expectations for a porch.

As part of the ongoing "make [personal profile] redbird and Cattitude's move easier" project, [personal profile] adrian_turtle left us a tea kettle, some sugar, and a few other useful things in the apartment.

Also, we saw crocuses and robins, which qualifies this as the beginning of spring by Cattitude's definitions. (We're getting two springs this year, because of when we moved, but I thought we might be dropped back into winter first.)

We are both quite worn out, from packing to move and the trip across the country. I think we managed a balance of getting enough done and not overdoing things too much physically. My feet feel as though I walked too much today, but I think that's mostly left over from standing too much Wednesday and Thursday.
