I am back in New York, after a weekend in Arlington with Adrian. The usual stuff: conversation, cuddling, cooking (which did not, this time, work as well as the other two), and walking around. We spent some time yesterday at the street fair part of Arlington's annual Town Day celebration. We got some chicken momos [Nepali dumplings], and half a dozen paperbacks at the library book sale. We also sensibly decided to hold off on funnel cakes until we'd had some real lunch, which we got at a burger restaurant outside the street fair area. Then we looked at some crafts, and by the time we were done with that, the funnel cake sellers had packed up (as had just about everyone else). We had both managed to sleep late yesterday morning, which I often don't, so we left the house late, and the street fair only ran until 3. Still, they were good momos, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude likes the earrings I got him, and it was a nice day for walking around.

Also, the shuttle bus replacing A service from 168th to 207th streets this weekend is a snare and a delusion: after it took five minutes to get from 168th to 175th, and another ten to cross 175th Street, I jumped off, and walked as far as 190th, where I caught the IRT. If I'd been thinking more clearly, instead of just "this is ridiculous, I'm a New Yorker, I can walk, it's a nice night" I could have walked back to 168th and gotten the IRT with less trouble. But I am home, Cattitude is roasting a chicken, and it was a nice night for a walk.
