I didn't sleep at all well. The sort of night where I spend a lot of time lying there, eyes closed, but awake. I wondered, a time or two, about getting up and reading, but didn't; were I otherwise well I might have.

Unsurprisingly, I woke up this morning with pain at the incisions. The previous couple of days, that had been there only quite late in the day.

ETA: I went out when [livejournal.com profile] cattitude did, to get a bit of a walk in before the rain got heavy. I'd meant to go as far as the little cluster of birch trees just past the Indian Road playground (which would have made about 4 blocks, round-trip), but turned back near the playground entrance because I was walking slowly, shorter on breath than yesterday. *sigh* I shall definitely try to nap today.

On the positive side, somewhere in the last few days the bloating has gone away, and I can wear my normal pants (instead of the very loose gym pants I've been borrowing from [livejournal.com profile] cattitude). However, the belt is still not a good idea, because it puts pressure on an incision. So, no PDA yet.

[livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger seems to have concluded that I am basically recovered. This means he is back to his bouncy, pouncing ways. One of the things we're still trying to train him out of is jumping up on my chair and clawing at my hand if I rest it on the back of the chair. Another is using claws or teeth when playing a game of "grab [livejournal.com profile] redbird's legs" (in which he comes up from behind me, grabs, and I shake him off and walk on. He's done both of these today, and came close to drawing blood on the chair pounce.

One difficulty is that he seems to have concluded that while he may not pounce on my bare legs, he can bite when I'm wearing pants. That's fine for jeans, and painful in flannel pajamas. I think I may have to stop playing that game altogether, and hiss whenever he tries it. I'm also considering buying a water pistol.

[When I first came home from the hospital, he figured out quickly that I was not well, and was quieter and gentler for a while. I think this was based on both how I moved and how I smelled.]
