redbird: me with purple hair (purple)
( Sep. 5th, 2005 06:46 pm)
I copyedited two manuscripts today, and have sent them both off to their authors for approval and the answering of queries about references. [These are magazine articles, not full-length books.] After doing that and a break for Scrabble, I have updated my resume. (Next is a cover letter for a possible job at the zoo; I also need to take the resume with me, and/or email it to myself, to show people at the current employer who might have openings in their departments.) Update: I have emailed the resume to my office. I am not going to push myself on that cover letter, and will try not to fret about it. I have three wonderful sweeties, and some other wonderful friends, who remind me not to push myself too hard, and not to be too hard on myself, and sometimes I even manage this.

I cooked us lunch (oatmeal, which is easy, but tasty and nourishing). I have washed knives, wooden spoons, and a couple of skewers, none of which can go in the dishwasher.

I've done my stretches twice today. I'm sure some of the 30% for whom physical therapy doesn't do the job are just unlucky and have more difficult or serious rotator cuff problems, but I suspect that some are because it's difficult, mentally, to do all this stuff every day, even if you have the time and space.

My beloved [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle called tonight. We were screening calls--I wasn't in a mood to talk to many people--but I grabbed it as soon as I heard her voice on the machine. She's in Montreal visiting [livejournal.com profile] papersky, [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel, and [livejournal.com profile] zorinth, who have managed to wear her out touristing with Rysmiel's uncle and aunt. We caught each other up a little, and talked about New Orleans, Katrina, and the horrible things connected to that. It wasn't a cheerful conversation, but I'm glad to have talked to her.

I'm going to try to find a weekend soon that we can see each other; [livejournal.com profile] cattitude is more optimistic about the logistics of this than Adrian is.
