I headed out with [livejournal.com profile] cattitude this morning, and got in a good workout. details, mostly numerical )

Then I called [livejournal.com profile] eleanor, followed by L, and arranged to meet them both for dim sum lunch at HSF. We ate assorted tasty things and talked until we were fairly well stuffed, then got the check and left so the restaurant could set up for some kind of banquet. I bought miscellaneous produce on Canal and Mulberry Streets, on our way to Janovic Plaza for paint chips. Eleanor needed them for painting-related purposes, and I grabbed a bunch in colors I liked, thinking collage and such.

Then they kindly accompanied me to Century 21, which unfortunately had sold all the wide winter boots that Eleanor had seen there last week; I was disappointed but not surprised, since there'd been a weekend and a major snowstorm in the interim. I did get a pair of flannel pajamas and a nice snug magenta hat to wear with my fall jacket (my proper winter coats both have hoods), thereby keeping me warm and adding color to an otherwise drab, not to say impossible to see in the dark, ensemble. But I still need winter boots, as distinct from hiking boots I bought to go hillwalking before the Scottish Worldcon, never really broke in properly, and dug out a few days ago.

In addition to the actual workout, I'd guess I walked about two or two and a half miles, here and there; I was fine until I got home, then stiff when I got up after sitting in front of this machine for a bit.

Who is the European/Christian Trickster?

If you're Native North American, s/he's Coyote. In Africa, one of Trickster's names is Anansi the spider.

Is there a European Trickster other than Loki? Prometheus tricked the gods, but that's a bit different and was a one-time deal.

And yes, I know that European doesn't equal Christian, in either direction, but I don't have a better shorthand for our dominant culture. Euro-American?
