I didn't sleep all that well last night, and dithered about whether to head out to the gym when
cattitude did. I decided I might as well--if my knees kept hurting, I could do a minimal cardio warmup and lift weights. Besides, heading out with him meant being shown where a thistle had just bloomed. After dithering, I had a good workout.

Lunch at Amy's Bread, where they misinterpreted my request for one chocolate twist (which I intended as part of dessert) and sold me two, wrapped for later. I wasn't really hungry enough to eat even one then, so it worked out, except that if I'd been thinking in terms of bringing them home, I'd have gotten the challah twists Cattitude likes, instead of the sourdough ones that only I like.
From there, I took a bus down to the Village. As I got on the bus, I heard my name. It was Lynn from my old job. We chatted a bit, and she said that ACM might be hiring freelancers again, and asked if I had a card. I gave her one--and I think I may now need to print some more--and am hoping to hear from her, or someone there.
The point of the trip downtown was to buy Assam Gold tea, which I get at McNulty's because the only loose Assam Porto Rico carries isn't nearly as nice. As long as I was in there, I also bought a quarter pound of their orange-scented tea, since I'm almost out of the nice "orange douce" I got in Montreal. On the way, I stopped in the post office and got a book of stamps. Thence home, via 181st Street for rye bread, to a game of Scrabble.
