redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

The bad news is, no paid work, and no recent progress on my novel.

However, the laundry is in as I type, I read [livejournal.com profile] papersky's latest novel within the time she asked and sent back comments that she said are useful, and I cooked dinner last night after [livejournal.com profile] cattitude decided he didn't feel up to it. A fine curry--light cream really does work a lot better in that sauce than milk does. I've also done a bit more scrubbing in the kitchen, and brushed the cat.

"Life goes on, even though two-headed and glowing faintly in the dark." The hard part is depicting that without veering to either banality or an overemphasis on the extra head and the faint glow. (Yes, I started writing about housework, and ended by discussing genre fiction.)
