Well, I've heard back from Jocelyn, and said I'll try to have this back by Wednesday. And now, having muttered about wanting to hear from them, nerves, etc., I'm finding myself inclined to do anything except rewrite. Well, anything time-wasting and fidgety. Aargh. I think I'm hitting "school paper" bad habits, instead of "I am a writer, I can do this" knowledge.

It doesn't help that, having explicitly included Egyptian religion in my original list of topics, they're now saying that there's a separate chapter on religion, and I should remove any overlaps.

The basic plan for the next few days is

  1. Rewrite this chapter

  2. Pay bills

  3. Get my teeth X-rayed, cleaned, etc.

  4. Go to the gym and get in a proper workout, including half an hour of cardio

  5. Try not to fret too much

  6. Get to the monthly NY rassef social

  7. Talk to Nancy, L, and probably [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes

  8. Sort out Boskone plans

  9. Make at least one real meal for myself and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude

  10. Deposit checks (health insurance reimbursement)

UPDATE: I'm adding as I realize other useful things being done today, especially things that had been on the to-do list for a while.

The problem with really ground-in dirt is that you can spend time scrubbing, with the rubber gloves and the cleanser and plenty of elbow grease, and you know that's it's a hell of a lot better than before you scrubbed, but anyone walking in for the first time would look at the sink and think "that needs scrubbing".
