NYRSF half-day

Kevin didn't call me until around 1:30, meaning just before our lunch was ready. We'd just been taking it easy; it transpired that he'd been up until 4 a.m. Friday doing NY Review of SF stuff.

He picked me up and we drove up to Pleasantville, where the stack of manuscripts to read and comment on was smaller than usual. Also there was the much-marked-up manuscript of the first review I've written for NYRSF. I talked about it with Hartwell for a few minutes, then expanded and somewhat rewrote it. I also stetted a few commas, and caught one place where a well-meaning copyeditor had misread a sentence, and changed the subject with their rewrite.

There was little enough to do this week that when Eugene asked for a ride to the train about 5:30, I left too, rather than hang out for dinner and such. There were enough stalwarts to make corrections, and Kevin is going to try to bring me the pages for correction tomorrow or maybe Monday.
