So, of course, Megumi (my Japanese contact on this project) has sent a revision, with request for more polishing by Monday morning her time, and a note that she'll be sending me something else either tonight or tomorrow morning that she wants by that same deadline.

The original schedule for this project left my weekends free. I made plans accordingly. I've written back, telling her that I can certainly do the piece I already have by that deadline, but that I have another editorial project to which I've committed myself for essentially all of tomorrow, which may limit things. (This is true.) I also noted that the original project schedule implied that I wouldn't have any weekend work. That note is cc'd to Robert-who-arranged-this, and we'll see what happens.

I go hunting around the Web, and find random facts that, well, I'm intrigued or amused by. For example, the most densely populated city in the United States isn't New York: it's Union City, New Jersey. Testimony to the arbitrarines of borders: five of the top ten are in New Jersey. (http://www.demographia.com/db-2000city50kdens.htm.) I was, of course, looking for something only vaguely related.
