I've been, and voted, and filled out the poll site survey for NYPIRG's Election Watch, and am now feeling virtuous. In a few hours, we'll have results, but I've done my part.

A throwaway remark on rassef....and the next thing I knew, I had a collaborator, and a few beginning entries for this maybe-book. And now my collaborator is back from World Fantasy, and at his computer again, and we're sending material back and forth, and figuring out the best way to share a file.
Maybe nothing will come of it. But I went to Paris on this sort of impulse. I studied classical Greek for three years on a moment's impulse, after finding myself in front of a teacher who asked a group of my friends "So who's taking Greek?" and who, when I raised my hand, asked who I was and added me to the list. I started weblogging that way. Maybe it's how I'll write a book, or part of one.
In the meantime, I also found one ad worth sending a resume to this afternoon.
