I have a job interview next week.

Oddly, it's with the employer I've been assuming I won't hear back from--the NYC Department of Mental Health. Not because it had been two months, or because I don't think I'm qualified: but we've been told, repeatedly, that the city has a hiring freeze on, for everything except firefighters and maybe police.

So, next Wednesday morning, I get to put on all my new interview gear, and go knock their socks off. Somewhere between now and then, I'll try to dig out the copy of the job posting, so I know exactly what I'm supposed to be selling them.

Also, I had the plumber in again, to deal with a leak in the bathroom: after asking why I'd sought him out so late (i.e. almost 5:00), he came in, did what needed doing, and adjusted the doorknob as a bonus.

Life is good.

The super did various things in the bathroom, involving removing part of the shower controls and inserting two new washers, and leaving half a washer on the bottom of the bathtub. I thanked him, he took my number so he can let me know when the plumber will be here to deal with this once and for all, and all seemed well.

Except it's still dripping. Oh, and either half a washer, or one and a half washers, are unaccounted for.

Next week, one of us gets to stay home and wait for the plumber, and hope that this gets sorted out once and for all, and nothing is set on fire. (Sorry, that's Lise's adventure, and as far as I know, there are no fifteen-year-old newspapers behind my bathroom wall.
