I was just in the office lunchroom, getting a cup of tea, and overheard the people who were having lunch. The first bit of conversation I heard was "That woman cannot write for shit." The complaint went on to point out that she can't spell either.
I find this cheering because they aren't over here in the publications department, they aren't counted as writers or editors--and they care. They care enough about getting it right that, on their lunch break, they're complaining about someone getting it wrong.
I do that too, but I'm not only a weird sf fan and geek, I get paid to worry about these things.
