Since it's National Coming Out Day:
For the three of you who don't know already [1], yes, I'm bisexual. To a first approximation--none of the terms quite seem to fit, since I'm not convinced that gender-of-the-other-person is the most important aspect of what I'm sorting on. Yes, in some sense bi means not sorting for gender--but I do seem to do some of that kind of sorting. That dial is set somewhere between a Kinsey 5 and 6--which means I'm attracted mostly to women--but there's an override, or a Venn diagram, or something, which is something like "attracted to intellectuals" crossed with "tend to fall in love with my friends".
So, that's something resembling a clarification [2]
[1] Since there seem to be people reading this who don't know me in other contexts, and maybe even one or two with whom the matter never came up. [3]
[2] "The more chaotic the clarification, the better" (as a James Thurber villain put it)
