I heard back about the copyediting test I took a few weeks ago: they have one specific thing they want me to pay more attention to, but are overall satisfied and want to start sending me work. I told my contact I am available most of next week [specific dates] and then again starting on the 29th. I may do some stuff for ACM while [personal profile] adrian_turtle is visiting, but I am significantly more familiar with that work, even though the latest task is "proofread a Microsoft Word file against a PDF to make sure no errors crept in during the PDF-to-Word conversion." (That was one of today's tasks; I did some proofreading for them yesterday as well.

Sandra Bond (WINOLJ/DW) is in the area for a few days before the Worldcon, and came over this afternoon for a few hours of hanging out with me, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude, and our cats. She, and Cattitude and I, are all going to the small pre-Worldcon convention Prologue this weekend, but we wanted to be sure we'd have some time together.

I had physical therapy this morning; shoulder and wrist stuff, since the ankle seems to be basically okay. I should probably ask Ian about strengthening exercises for that, when I go back in a couple of weeks, but I was thinking about the shoulder: for some reason, possibly to do with either carrying my suitcase on the trip to Montreal or having backed into the edge of a door this morning, it was bothering me even before we started. And then I tried increasing the resistance on the rowing, which seemed to have worked fine until I tried the next exercise. Also massaged(?) the base of my left thumb by pushing it down against a small hard ball, rolling it slowly over a table.

After Sandra left this evening, I went to the exercise room, but did only a few things, and nothing that involved the shoulder at all.

Squats 3x15
Crunches 3x15
Calf raises 15 (I'd been laying off these altogether while the ankle healed, so ease back into them.)

The morning PT: 3 sets of 10 rows with the next-higher elastic, which seemed okay but may have strained something; I did a few Serratus pushups, I think 8, and then stopped because they hurt both shoulders. I did the lateral raises at 2 pounds each hand (as usual), 3 sets of 10, and then 3 sets of 10 of the T exercises with the lightest elastic, but no internal or external rotation. Shrugs started at I think 8 pounds in each hand to make sure it wouldn’t hurt, took them up to 15 after a few, and then I did the third set at 10 because 15 was feeling like too much. (This is down from the 20 I did the last time I'd used actual weights instead of resistance bands.)
