It feels as though I spent much of last week getting over jet lag, other tiring effects of travel, and/or the stressful day of apartment hunting. Meanwhile,
julian_tiger seems to be alternating between being snugglier than usual and napping a lot, as if he's hoping that all will be normal when he wakes up this time. I suspect he doesn't actually want more snuggling than usual, he just has one fewer person to snuggle.
I woke up this morning feeling a bit more like myself. So, I went to the gym (getting there later than usual, probably because of the shift to daylight saving time, but not so late as to have to deal with lunchtime crowding). I had a pretty thorough workout, and on my way out talked to a manager and arranged to cancel my membership as of April 3, because I'm moving. (In retrospect, I think I overdid something: my left knee hurt suddenly when I was getting off the train at the end of this outing, and then was fine a few minutes later, probably before the advil had time to take effect.)
I went down to Excellent Dumpling for lunch. The server smiled and asked "Usual order?" even though I haven't been there much in the last few months. I almost said yes just to see what she would bring, but instead asked for egg drop soup and rice cakes with shrimp (the rice cakes would definitely have been a possible "usual order," but without the soup). A tasty meal, and I was happy just sitting there with my soup; a small thing, but that's one of my places, and it's not easy to find good egg drop soup.
Thence to REI in search of a replacement daypack, a jacket, and a new water bottle; I dropped that last at the gym this morning and the cap broke off. It's still functional, though. I wound up with a short raincoat and a down vest, as well as grumpiness about manufacturers who don't want to make things for women with large upper arms, much less broad shoulders. This after trying on a few fleece jackets from different manufacturers. I suspect I'm going to be doing a lot of layering (in Seattle, most likely raincoat plus sweater).
No luck on the daypack; I have tabs open for a couple of possibilities, neither of them really ideal, but I think I have to pick one and order it, given the poor condition of my existing daypack. (I know what I want; nobody seems to be making it. The company that made the bag I am replacing now does only single-strap things to be worn across the body, which are touted as good for the back but aren't good for my shoulder.
Yes, I've been exercising, just not posting about it, but here are some numbers:
Cardio, 14:00, top 140
Rolled out IT band etc.
Hamstring bridge, 4 sets of 9
Psoas exercise, 3 with each leg
Squats, 15, 15, 2 (left knee was complaining; I should probably have stopped sooner)
Calf raises, 3 sets of 15
Opposite arm/leg, 12 pairs
Balance stuff standing on the half roller
Lunges, 10 with each foot forward, then 10 with the left forward and 7 with the right (left knee again)
On balance platform:
Lat pulldown, 50 pounds, 2 sets of 12; on one foot, 8 each (did this on the round platform, as usual)
Hug a tree, 25 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Back exercise (also on the round platform, I'm getting better at this), 35 pounds, 2 sets of 12; one foot, 6 each
Triceps pulldown (and back to square platform), 35 pounds, 12; 25 pounds, 2 sets of 12
Biceps curls on bosu, 10 pounds each hand, 2 sets of 15
Standing/leaning pushups, 2 sets of 10
Row with (relatively light) elastic, 3 sets of 12
Stretches
