I may be making a lot of little notes, mostly for my reference, as I work on, or think about, changing stance and posture.
I am trying, when I think of it, to stand the way the trainer recommended, with the feet parallel, a little weight/pressure on the outer edges, but the big toes definitely in contact with the ground.
The knees were about the same yesterday as on other recent days (as in, no noticeable immediate difference from the training session Friday), and maybe a little worse this afternoon. [today is Sunday]
cattitude and I walked to the greenmarket and back yesterday, and in the park a bit today: less than the distance I'd cover on a normal workday, even the way I've been doing it lately with crosstown buses (the greenmarket is closer than the subway station).
adrian_turtle noted that maybe the sandals are making a slight difference: we did the training session Friday with me in just socks, and the trainer saw my regular walking/exercise shoes. At some point I may take them with me to show her, in case it makes a difference.
I am under doctor's instructions to go barefoot as little as possible, and to avoid high heels (not that I needed to be told that), so I wear sandals as inside shoes, instead of slippers, since I have yet to find a slipper in my size that has any kind of actual support. I will consider recommendations, if anyone reading this actually has similar feet and wears slippers that provide a bit of support as well as warmth; they would need to be extra wide, a women's 8 (US) or men's 6.5 (a size that barely exists). Or if you work in a shoe store and are aware of something.
