Yesterday afternoon, I visited
roadnotes for a few hours. We caught up a bit, and discussed her plans for tidying, culling things, and moving to a new ground-floor apartment.
coyotegoth was there for part of my visit, and was more practically helpful (he did dishes). I would have liked more time with just her, but this was good. Late afternoon,
fimbrethil and Howard dropped
baldanders off after having lunch together and hanging out. It was good to see him walking a bit, albeit slowly and with a cane. He saw the new apartment, and we discovered that the wheelchair he's currently using won't fit through one doorway. They then went to a bar, and I looked at the time and the state of the
redbird and headed home instead. (I could have managed about 20 minutes at Quarter, which probably wouldn't have been time to do more than taste one of the complex cocktails Roadnotes has been telling me about, or possibly discuss options but not even get to taste anything. I don't like most alcoholic drinks, so I'm less disappointed by this than many people would be.)
After work today, I went down to the Village for coffee, tea, and chocolate. I walked into the chocolate shop and said hi, and Marc Varsano looked up from the back and said "ginger in three minutes." I got some ginger and some other things, and passed on the good news about Baldanders.
(Work continues apace; more glitches on the current book, so I've asked and gotten a day's extension on my deadline for editing the manuscript, but nothing horrible.)
