This is a cardinal that is half-male, half-female (vertically divided). Via [livejournal.com profile] beetiger. The technical term seems to be gynandromorph. I'm assuming it's sterile, but haven't done any reading, just followed the link to the image

Yep, this is one of the more common forms of hemaphroditism (in the biological sense), and also occurs in humans. One gonad becomes an ovary, the other a testicle.
