The number of black governors in the United States just doubled. I keep reminding myself that this is progress.

Great news for me. We were in Virginia to help elect Douglas Wilder, and we'll be moving to New York just in time to claim Paterson as our own. (Of course, his name will always sound like a city in NJ.)

We were around to support the election of Kaine a bit, but we were out of the state (or commonwealth) when he was elected.
