redbird: Edward Gorey picture of a bicyclist on a high wirer (gorey bicycle)
( Sep. 19th, 2004 09:48 am)
One of the things--along with some kitchenware and such--that I snagged at my employer's recent "we're cleaning out the warehouse" employee giveaway was an item weird enough for Pagan Prattle, which I figured [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel would either enjoy or grimace at, but ought to see either way: a locket with a Mexican "Libertad" coin [1], an engraving of the bible verse about mustard seeds and faith, and an actual mustard seed tucked into it. (It's visible as the second item on this page.)

So I took it to Montreal, where [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel seemed quite pleased to have it, and [livejournal.com profile] papersky amused, so I was pleased. Papersky borrowed it long enough to take it to Worldcon to show [livejournal.com profile] tnh, but I haven't heard about Teresa's reaction, if any.

[1] It's one of those odd silver coins being minted entirely for the collectors' market, about which I now know more than I ever wanted to, though not enough to qualify as a useful resource.
