but it's in my foot.
I had a nice dinner, and a very nice dessert (fresh berries with heavy cream are a fine thing). I gave the cat her medicine, despite her protests. Not entirely unjustified: I squirted half a dose into her mouth, told her she's a good cat, let her down--then realized I had to do the other half, and grabbed her again. Much more protest this time, but she is now fully medicated.
Then I stepped on a splinter.
Andy is out gaming, and seems to have left his cell phone in the other room. I don't have the phone number for where he is. And I can't get the thing out by myself (I tried, repeatedly).
I am annoyed by the phone thing because we had agreed on a system of who would call whom, when, so we could figure out whether I was going to medicate the cat by myself. No answer, so I left a message. Tried again. Gave up. Dosed her.
And now I really want to know when he'll be home, so I can see about getting this stupid splinter out tonight. And if it's going to be 3 a.m., he probably won't be up for it. If I knew that, it would be bactine and a band-aid. For all I know, though, he forgot to call and the reason he's not answering is that there's no reception inside subway tunnels, this not being Hong Kong. What's the good of cell phones if you still can't reach people, when you specifically arranged to check in by cell phone?
Yes, I'm rambling. I've got a piece of wood in my foot, my sweetie is out of contact, and I'm half asleep.
Don't worry: my tetanus booster is up to date. So this is a nuisance, not a danger.
