redbird: closeup photo of an apricot (apricot)
( Oct. 22nd, 2007 10:59 pm)
Pepperidge Farm has come up with a chocolate version of their chessmen shortbread cookies. Not chocolate-coated, but chocolate-flavored cookies. (For some reason, I keep wanting to refer to them as "biscuits," though the manufacturer doesn't.) I like the original chessmen, so we bought a package.

They're nothing special: my first thought was "no better than the plain," and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude thought they're not as good. On further reflection (and two more cookies a day later) I think he's right.

There's nothing wrong with them, and I expect to finish them, but I won't be buying them again, and I'd recommend against them: get the basic chessmen if you're so inclined.
