For no special reason except maybe that it's apple season, I made a batch of cakelings today. (Of twelve, there are three left, unless
cattitude is snacking while he cooks the squash.) I realized partway through that this was the first baking I'd done since before the surgery. Or, more precisely, the first I'd done myself: I've helped
adrian_turtle on a couple of baking projects, but that's different, both in the amount I have to do and in activation energy.
Just now, I sat down, opened a new package of twine, and bundled up the magazines, catalogs, and bits of newspaper that were waiting to go out for recycling. That, again, has been sitting since before the surgery. It's a relatively low-priority bit of housework, and easier to put off than other things that are generally my tasks. But I'm glad to have it done, and the corner vacuumed.
And now I will rest.
