redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

I'm not good at sleeping late anyway, and doubly so on mornings before I travel. On top of that, at this time of year the sunlight finds a gap in the curtain in [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel's study at about 6:30 in the morning. So, despite being on vacation for a week, with no plans more specific than "the two of us could go for dim sum tomorrow and then get ice cream" and "Jardin Botanique Saturday," I've not caught up on sleep at all.

Fortunately, I have a flight home at a reasonable hour today, and only a day and a half of work to deal with before a quiet weekend with my beloved [livejournal.com profile] cattitude.

I'm trying not to fret about temp job, continued existence thereof. In the first place, they've been encouraging; in the second, if it has gone up in smoke while I was out of the country, I can call the agency and see where we are. There's other work out there, if not places where it includes factoring quadratics and taking time to check a quote from Archimedes. [If, as I expect, the job does continue, I need to check with my supervisor about whether temps are actually invited to, and will be paid for the time of, the middle-of-the-day company boat trip next week.]

Priorities for the next few days, other than sleep: Cattitude, [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle, [livejournal.com profile] roadnotes, and [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger (the last because he will leave me no option). I may even manage to touch base with all four of them this evening.
