Sleep-short

I got to bed a little late last night, but I think it would have been okay if not for the rainstorm. Loud, sudden rain at about 6:30, which woke me, cattitude, julian_tiger, and at least two car alarms. One of the latter went off twice. I didn't get back to sleep, which leaves me almost an hour short of where I should have been. It's not just that it usually takes a while to get back to sleep: I have trouble doing so when I know the alarm will be going off fairly soon.

Weird. I was also wakened by a loud, sudden rain this morning, at about 5:50. (And I'm considerably south of you -- same storm system, maybe?) Only about ten minutes off my alarm, but still very startling.

car alarm

When I lived in Astoria and parked my car in the outside parking lot, rain set my alarm off several times. Once it woke me along with others at 5 or 6 am. Another time Quensview called me at work and I had to leave Jay's office and go to Astoria to turn off the alarm.
