It's a loop, about twenty minutes. The tracks are around the edge of a large area with a number of different animal exhibits, and the trains run counterclockwise around the loop. There's only one station, where they collect tickets and then zoo visitors board and disembark, but if I recall correctly there's at least one siding they can use at need (but rarely do). Six or seven cars; driver in the first car, controlling speed so they can point out where the animals are, stop at the right end of exhibits, and such.
The cars have seats on two levels, one above the other, all facing toward the left-hand side (as it would be if you were facing in the direction the monorail runs). The wall on that side comes to about waist height on me (I'm 160 cm), and then there's a bit of railing, but mostly open air so you can see well. The trains don't go very fast. Doors are on the right-hand side of the cars, so behind you when you're seated. The cars are fairly small, and hold I think ten or a dozen passengers each.
Usually it's been best to ride up front; this time the driver [reasonably] tried to run things so that the train ran slowest when the interesting animals were near the middle of the train, which is better for people on average, but if we'd known, we'd have sat further back (we were near the head of the line for our train).
