I suppose I don't really want smarter spammers, but recent dubious ones I didn't even open included:

* "Subject: this site made me divorce my wife" with a female "from" name (and it wasn't from .nl or .dk)
* A couple of the semi-standard ones that pretend to be misdirected mail, but with five-digit numbers in the subject field

In My Defense!

Let me just say that I didn't believe MS would have a system file with a teddy bear icon. Hah!

So far, two people have said they think the hoax originated inside microsoft, because ms is so anti-java.

Wait a minnit! I'm not so sure this is reassuring, saying I'm not stupid, just clueless. Thanks a lot! Whyyyy you......

Don't Get Mad, Get Clueful! With A-1 Rent-A-Clue!™

Hey, no reason to get all shirty about it. We all need a clue now and then, me more than most. That's why I opened an account with A-1 Rent-A-Clue: their worldwide network of convenient locations was just great when I was travelling on business. The Sign-N-Shut-Up plan saved me foreign currency hassles.

The only thing that wasn't really worth it was the FlashClues program. Thirty minutes just isn't short enough, and getting it free just isn't enough compensation. Well, I suppose we all have to make fools of ourselves in front of rooms full of serious and powerful people from time to time. Most of the time, A-1 Rent-A-Clue Really Saved My Bacon.™

D'Oh! Lousy trademark symbol character escape sequences...

Okay, I guess it says no HTML in the subject, but that was background noise, and the trademark symbol in the subject worked in the preview.
