It turns out that Steve Allen and Frank Zappa worked well together, complete with bicycles. Zappa had only been playing bicycle for two weeks. Thanks to kip_w, in a discussion on rassef. (The link is to a YouTube video of the Steve Allen show, and rather flickery, I'm afraid.)

In case you feel like it some time in the future, YouTube has a box off to the right for embedding. Copy all the text in it, paste it in your LJ, and the image is in a box in your post and can be activated by clicking on it.
