I needed the workout, psychologically and probably physically, but it seems to have taken a lot out of me: I was sitting here feeling chilled for a while after I got home.
Cardio, 15 minutes plus two of cooldown, top heart rate 161
Chest press, 75 pounds, 9; 70 pounds, 8
Calf raise, 75 pounds, 13, 9 (started feeling stiff around 7 of second set); 65 pounds, 12
Balance ~fly, 50 pounds, 15 with each foot leading
Leg press, 300 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Adjustable row, 80 pounds, 15; 70 pounds, 2 sets of 15. Might have been able to stay at 80, but wanted to be surer of position/form.
Crunches, 3 sets of 30
Back arch, 3 sets of 17
Tree, 4 sets of {3 on each leg}
Balance lateral raise, 5 pounds per hand, 3 sets of 15. No slippage!
Hip adduction, 100 pounds, 13, 12
Hip abduction, 90 pounds, 12, 8
Bicep curl, 30 pounds, 3 sets of 25
Stretches
Weighed myself, shoes off, 178 pounds, which is close enough to the weight at the doctor's office with shoes and street clothes to be reassuring. Tracking my weight is potentially weird, though: there are sound reasons we don't own a scale other than the postage scale.

Probably fortunately, I can't remember my own numbers on most things to compare myself in other ways. No need to let the stupid competitive scrabbling gerbil in the back of my brain get any leverage. I'm mildly, plaintively, jealous about the leg presses and similar, though. I screwed up my knees when I was a teen. They rarely bother me, as long as I never, ever, do exercises which isolate the quads. Those - it doesn't matter how carefully I do them, my knees go *off,* for weeks. So, no quad-oriented weights. I do more on the treadmill to compensate.

I don't know whether more sets is generally better; it seems to work for me.
