I personally don't like either AIM or Yahoo. I guess once an MSN user always an MSN user! Then again that's probably because i hardly know anyone on AIM. I would however try to avoid yahoo especially if i'm trying to talk to my mom, she isn't the best with the old interfaces. Actually i probably didn't provide any useful info there at all. Sorry!
