Velma is doing better

cattitude and I are just back from visiting roadnotes in the hospital.

She's doing considerably better than she had been. The doctors now say no, there is no gangrene, and she probably won't need surgery, because the IV antibiotics are doing a lot of good. She has had a bunch of tests, and more are planned for tomorrow. (baldanders has posted more information in his journal, but hasn't yet had a chance to duplicate it to hers.) I passed along greetings from adrian_turtle and from my mother. Roadnotes ate the sushi Baldanders had brought her, and then he ate some, and Cattitude and I finished it. Then we played Scrabble, noting that four-person strategy is very different from two-person.

Sorry about that. I was mostly thinking of people who'd been seeing worrisome stuff for days to weeks in her journal. (She has posted quite a bit, and then Soren a little, about this whole medical mess.)
