The problem with two of my sweeties living in other cities is that when I want to rush over and take care of one of them--or when one of them wants to comfort me--it's often impractical. If [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle were an hour away by subway, instead of five or six by subway to intercity bus (or train) to subway to bus, I'd still spend most of my nights here at home with [livejournal.com profile] cattitude, but it would be much easier to manage an hour or an evening when it would help.

There are other disadvantages--I can't have Q stop by to try a batch of lemon ice cream, for example--but this is what occurs to me this week.

Nonetheless, I am very glad to have them in my life, and be part of their lives.

Lemon ice cream is a good thing, and Q is a good thing, so I can see why you would want to combine them in that very sensible fashion. My sympathies: long distance sweeties are hard, and I'm glad I don't have to do that just now. I'm not very good at it.
